History of Sankat Mochan Temple Shimla
Sankat Mochan temple Shimla is dedicated to Lord Hanuman. This temple has been established by Baba Neeb Karori Ji Maharaj in 1966. Baba Neeb Karori Ji Maharaj came to this place for peace and meditation in the 1950s. For being here for 10 years, he built Sankat Hanuman temple Shimla.
This temple is believed to be Sankat Mochak of the visitors. There are also idols of Lord Shiva, Lord Rama and Lord Ganesha in separate complexes in the main Sankat Mochan Hanuman temple compound.
The idols have been arranged in such a way that temple looks like circular in shape. The temple of Lord Ganesha is inspired by the South Indian architectural style. Later on Hanuman temple Shimla has been expanded by the active participation of Government of Himachal Pradesh from the tourism point of view.
